The Saints Go Marching On!

February 8th, 2010

The record books were practically rewritten yesterday as the New Orleans Saints ended their dream season by beating the Indianapolis Colts 31-17 in Super Bowl XLIV. Over 106 million people watched the game (making it the most watched television program of all time) to see the Saints’ Drew Brees tie the record for most completions (with 32) and Garrett Hartley become the first kicker to make three 40+ yard kicks in a Super Bowl. It was almost as if Mardi Gras came early as New Orleans fans partied around the country and Bourbon Street was flooded with merry-makers. If you are a Saints fan, celebrate your first Super Bowl with a NeuroGasm! If you were rooting for the Colts, keep your spirits up with a NeuroBliss and look forward to next year.

Kings of the Grammys

February 5th, 2010

Kings of Leon celebrated their trifecta of Grammy wins at hot nightclub Voyeur in Los Angeles with — what else — but shots of NeuroGasm!  The star-studded crowd included Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr., Andy Samberg, Matthew Morrison from Glee, Lindsay Lohan, Brody Jenner and more, who headed over after the Grammy Awards to celebrate with the rock n roll darlings.   Fellow bands Bon Jovi, Phoenix and MGMT put rivalry aside to take part in the celebration that went on until the wee hours of the morning. All the guests loved the NeuroGasm and NeuroBliss mixed with 42 Below Vodka, or straight up!

The 18th annual Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) Academy Awards® Viewing Party hosted by Sir Elton John and David Furnish will be held Sunday, March 7, 2010, at the Pacific Design Center and will be presented by Chopard, Jo and Raffy Manoukian, and Neuro Drinks.  The event will begin at 4:00 P.M. with a cocktail reception, followed by a formal dinner and viewing of the 82nd Annual Academy Awards®, an exciting auction and a very special soon-to-be-announced musical performer invited by Sir Elton John to perform at the event.  Last year, the highly successful annual gala raised $4 million.  EJAF will continue to invest the money raised at this event in grant-making initiatives that support HIV prevention programs, anti-discrimination efforts, and direct services to persons living with HIV/AIDS.  The Foundation targets key populations that are poorly served by current prevention efforts and most at risk of infection in an effort to bring about immediate change that will end this epidemic.

The EJAF Party is guaranteed to bring out today’s brightest Hollywood stars. This year, the Foundation is especially honored to have David and Victoria Beckham, Kathryn Bigelow, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele, Diana Jenkins, Marilyn and Jeffrey Katzenberg, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, Lenny Kravitz, Ryan Kwanten, Ed Limato, Eric and Janet McCormack, Tyler Perry, Rich Ross, Gabourey Sidibie, Sharon Stone, Dame Elizabeth Taylor, Donatella Versace, and John Waters serve as event chairs.

Snugg fest Bar Crawl

February 4th, 2010

Neuro was part of the Snugg Fest Bar Crawl in North Scottsdale. The cult-favorite holiday gift of the decade — Snuggies – were worn on the crawl and participants personalized their own Snuggie at the first stop on the crawl, the Sandbar and then boarded a tour bus to take them the rest of the way! Neuro created a special Snuggie Potion for participants – a shot which they poured in crawlers’ mouths and then blew on the whistles they wore around their necks signaling them to move on!  Non-drinkers could be part of the fun as well enjoying NeuroSonic and NeuroGasm “:straight up!”  After folks “crawled” home, they could stock up on Neuro the following day their local Neuro retailers including The Kitchen, Danny’s Car Wash and Superpumper!

Last week Jeannine Coulter showed San Diegans exercises utilizing the swiss ball, resistance bands and free weights at her workshop at the Circle K in Escondido.  In LA, CardioGirl’s expert trainer, Nadine Young, led UCLA students in a comprehensive yoga workout then headed over to the Electronic Arts offices to teach them about nutrition and exercises they can do at their desk.
NeuroTrim and Tone is coming back to San Diego on Saturday 2/6 at FRESH, an Urban Hair Salon. Jeannine Coulter will lead a short run followed by targeted yoga and stretching.
Find out about all the upcoming events and get some great workout tips on the NeuroTrim and Tone Facebook page.

Finding a Cure

February 2nd, 2010

Neuro’s philanthropic efforts extend over many good causes. Last Thursday, we hosted both the cocktail hour and the Juniors Room (with the yet-to-be-released Neuro Juniors line) and helped to raise $1.7 million dollars for the Entertainment Industry Foundation’s Women’s Cancer Research Fund. GRAMMY® winners Tim McGraw and Faith Hill were presented the 2010 Courage Award. McGraw serves as Honorary Chairman of the Tug McGraw Foundation, created in honor of Tim’s father Major League Baseball pitcher Tug McGraw, who after his own diagnosis of a malignant brain tumor, dedicated his life to enhance the quality of life of men, women and children with brain tumors. McGraw and Hill together have tirelessly given time, attention and funds from a record number of benefit concerts for cancer and other causes. Emmy® winner Christina Applegate was presented the Nat King Cole Award for her dedication to encouraging awareness and early detection for women at high risk for breast cancer. After her own breast cancer diagnosis through an early, doctor-ordered MRI, Applegate founded Right Action for Women. The event featured a performance by Taylor Swift, the top-selling digital artist in music history, who was nominated for eight awards at the 2010 Grammys ®. Everyone enjoyed a variety of Neuro cocktails and Neuro Drinks, even the children, who were tucked upstairs in their own suite, complete with laptops, art stations and a deejay!

Oscar Race Begins

February 2nd, 2010

Some folks were Up in the Air and others just Up as the Academy Award nominations were announced this morning. Producers must have been “blind-sided” by their nomination for The Blind Side, but the Best Picture category was doubled this year leaving room for surprise nominees like the animated Up alongside sure bets such as Avatar. Another surprise was the darkly political District 9, taking the place of other predictions such as (500) Days of Summer and even Star TrekAn Education, The Hurt Locker, Inglorious Bastards as well as A Serious Man and Precious rounded out the Best Picture nominees. Click here for all the Oscar news and start routing for your favorites with some Neuro, now!

The Jenkins-Penn Haitian Relief Organization has mobilized volunteer doctors, nurses and other medical professionals and fanned out across the capital city of Port-Au-Prince. They have treated more than 7,000 patients, distributed more than 4,000 water filters and delivered more than 100,000 pounds of medical supplies but there is still more to do. Take a look at the new JP HRO website to see what all they are doing and find out how you can donate or volunteer.

Neuro founder and President, Diana Jenkins, will be joining Sean Penn tonight on Larry King Live on CNN at 6 PST/ 9 EST to discuss the many issues facing orphans in Haiti and the work of the Jenkins-Penn Haitian Relief Organization. The JP HRO works directly with other humanitarian operations as a “relief provider to relief providers.” It queries hospitals and other organizations daily about their immediate needs and then arranges rapid deployment of staffing and supplies to meet those demands.
