Neuro was the HollyRod Foundation’s 11th Annual Design Care Event!

The event was MCed by the foundation founders Holly Robinson Peete and Rodney Peete. Holly’s father was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. Holly and her husband decided to use their celebrity to help raise money to improve quality of life and search for a cure. They started the HollyRod foundation to interact with their famous friends to raise awareness and money. Furthermore the money they do collect is not set aside in an endowment. It is immediately sent to research and care facilities. 5 years ago tragedy struck again for the Peete family. Their son was diagnosed with Autism. They were able to get him proper care immediately and he made amazing accomplishments but they realized that most families with an autistic child are unable to afford that level of treatment. They expanded their foundation with HollyRod 4 Kids to help raise money and awareness for Autism.

The event was very extravagant. The opening reception offered full catering, a silent auction and a Neuro bar. The Neuro Drinks were a huge hit. Guests and crew alike were all fans of the flavor then came back later to compliment the functionality.

Michael J Fox was in attendance and received an award for his continued struggle with Parkinson’s and how he used his celebrity to raise awareness and millions of dollars for research. Michael was drinking Neuro throughout the whole evening.

Samuel L Jackson tried some Neuro and he liked it so much that he took a few home to drink later.

Also in attendance was Magic Johnson, John Sally, Michael Strahan  and many more athletes, singers and stars. John Salley was a big fan of the Neuro Sporti and wanted to get more of it to use as a warm up drink before he played basketball.

After the reception the event began. Holly and Rodney MCed and gave out awards and showed videos. After that there was a full fashion show by the designer Marchesa.

After the fashion show was a live auction. They auctioned off a vacation in Mexico, a Laker’s experience with Derek Fisher, an extravagant dinner party, a watch and a Barabus Smart car. The bidding drew lots of friendly rivalries with friends yelling across the audience, egging people on to bid higher.

The night ended with a concert by En Vogue. For the last song, Holly came out and sang with the band. The whole audience was standing and clapping and enjoying the show.
