With their campuses only 12 miles apart, USC and UCLA have cultivated a growing rivalry for over 75 years. After months of cross-city taunts and a series of pranks that included USC students painting the UCLA Bruin statue cardinal red and gold, the rivalry came to a head last Saturday as the football teams battled it out.

For some of us, Thanksgiving weekend was spent eating turkey and watching football, but for others, the weekend became an opportunity to burn off calories and get heart rates up and circulation flowing in 5K and 10K runs in San Diego, Santa Monica and Merced.
